Our journey began with a simple idea: to solve the discomfort of sunbathing. As we were frustrated by the glare in our eyes trying to enjoy our book at the beach, we set out to build a solution.

Initial Sketches
After a day at the beach struggling again, it was time to get out the old sketch book. Along with cardboard and toothpicks, a simple Z shaped design was decided on.
april, 2023
The Prototype
After a long year of my initial sketches sitting in the cupboard collecting dust, Josh took it upon himself to bring it to life. A trip to town for the materials and a few hours in the shed, the first prototype was made.
October, 2023
Will They Sell?
Finally happy with the design, we created 30 huts from local materials and went ahead with booking our first market to see what the public thought. Turns out, we were onto something.
February, 2024
Going All In
The markets were tough, but the people we meet along the way gave us the confidence to go all in. Putting together our savings, along with crafting custom made building jigs, we built 500 huts, sourcing the highest quality parts from all around the world.

Official Launch Day
After many months of designing, prototyping and sourcing materials, we finally launched our first drop. Only selling 5 in our first month, we knew this was going to be a lot harder than we initially thought.
december, 2024
First Release Sold Out
From a slow start launching in the Australian winter, we sold out 12 days into December. We knew we had an amazing product, so we doubled down and used all our profits to get even more materials for 1000 huts.
June, 2026
The Z Hut Today
This date marks our 2 year anniversary as a brand. Amassing over 100k followers, over 5M likes online and shipping to over 3000 units to 34 countries around the world. We've created something truely special all thanks to people like you, reading our story.
